This research focus on Joe Goldberg's obsessive personality in You film series season
1 (2018). The purpose of this research was to identify obsessive personality in Joe
Goldberg's main character in the film series and to analyze the impact of obsessive
personality from Joe Goldberg's character on himself and those around him. This study
uses the theory of Theodore Millon to reveal obsessive personality in Joe Goldberg's
character from You film series and the impact of obsessive personality on Joe
Goldberg's character. This research explained about the acts of obsessive experienced
by the character by using film and character theory by Boggs and Petrie, also obsessive
personality theory. The results show has an obsessive personality usually exhibits
stiffness and stubbornness for example, Joe Goldberg had an obsession and control of
life to the people he loved, mental and interpersonal control. The impact of Joe
Goldberg's obsessed personality. He will do anything for the person he loves, but in his
own way, even though it intends to kill others
