This study examines impoliteness strategies in the transcript of the movie toy story 1 - 4 using a pragmatic approach and Jonathan culpeper's impoliteness theory. This research aims to describe how the application of the types of impoliteness strategies contained in the toy story movie and find out the type and function of the impoliteness strategies. This research method is qualitative. The researcher used purposive sampling techniques to collect the data to be analyzed. The data used to analyze this research is the transcript of the movie toy story 1-4. There are four kinds of impoliteness strategies found in movie transcripts. That are bald on record Impoliteness, positive impoliteness, negative impoliteness, and sarcasm, or mock impoliteness. The total data found in the movie is 70 data, of which 33 data will be analyzed in depth by the researcher. The positive impoliteness strategy is the most frequently used. In this movie, the direct and uncontrollable affective impoliteness of emotions to attack their faces is the function the characters use most often
