This thesis is entitled "The Tradition of Ngunjungan (Alms of the Earth) in Kaliwedi Cirebon 2000-2019: The Impact of Local Traditions on the Economy and Cultural Tourism", this thesis discusses the development of the tradition of visiting in Kaliwedi in the period 2000-2019 which has an impact on the economy of the people of Kaliwedi and cultural tourism activities in the area. Therefore, this thesis research was conducted with the aim of explaining the role of the Kaliwedi community in preserving the tradition of visiting as a local cultural heritage and attracting immigrants or visitors during the ritual season.
The author tries to explain the tradition of visiting from the beginning of the ritual, and every implementation is carried out, namely from before the implementation begins, the beginning of the visit, until after the implementation of the tradition. In addition, it also explains the economic impact of the community from the existence of the visiting tradition.
This research is descriptive analysis using historical methods. Thus, the stages taken in this research rely on historical methods consisting of heuristics, criticism or verification, interpretation and historiography. The results of this study show that the visiting tradition began to develop from the 2000-2019 period, during that time there were changes that occurred, such as the addition of appearances, the naming of visits, the duration of holding traditions and faster information. Until the formation of cultural tourism which has an impact on the community's economy, though, the impact is not too big.
