Jo march’s struggle in breaking gender inequality in Little woman (2019): a liberal feminist approach

This thesis aimed to identify the different types of gender inequality that
occur in women and how they respond to these inequalities based on their strengths.
The writer chooses the study Naomi Wolf’s Liberal Feminism theory to analysis Jo
March’s responds to the gender inequalities, which is reflected to the life of
characters as women who lived in 1800s era. The result of this research shows that
showed that Jo March experienced gender inequality in a variety of areas, including
economic, social, educational, and political. She often experiences gender
inequality from all aspects of life, such as being compared to men, experiencing
subordination, stereotypes, double burdens, marginalization, and finally seeing the
issue of violence against her sister. Even though Jo March suffers from gender
inequality, she fights it in various ways in order to obtain the same rights as men
