This research aims to explore the depiction of food and food practices in The Clue at Black Creek Farm (2015) and investigate how the novel perpetuates gender stereotypes. Employing a qualitative research method, the study utilizes food in literature and gender stereotypes theory by Lindsey. The findings reveal significant confirmation of gender stereotypes presence and how it perpetuates in the novel based on gender roles and expectation surrounding food, gendered language and assumption about food within the main and supporting characters in food practice. These stereotypes and assumptions about food choices and practices are deeply rooted in society, leading to division in workplace and value understanding based on gender.
