This study aims to analyze the cultural identity issues experienced by the diaspora main character in novel The Essence of Noah by Alt-ernative. This study applies qualitative method to examine the doubleness of cultural identity experienced by the character between her host and homeland, as well as the identity negotiations that character had to face in order to identify her identity. Stuart Hall’s cultural identity and diaspora approach was used in this study since it is relevant to the research topic. This study obtained the following results: the diaspora main character indicated experiencing doubleness of cultural identity; and the diaspora main character celebrated her homeland after experiencing the identity negotiation.
