The research analyzes the female character in Kate film. This research aims to understand how the female character is depicted in the film and how she is described as a stereotyped female action hero. The research method applied is the descriptive qualitative method. Character and characterization theory by Joseph Boggs and Deniss Petrie as well as feminist film theory by Smelik also applied in this research. The result shows that Kate is depicted as a female action hero who is physically strong, brave, committed, intelligent, and skillful. Even though Kate as the female action hero has masculine characteristics, she is still cannot escape from the stereotype of women. Kate in this film is still stereotyped because the male character helped her through her actions. This film proves that male domination still exists. The female stereotypes have been attached in the film.
