Historically islamic law of inheritance is neither a full new set of rules imposed on the muslim communities of the Arabs, nor a mere confirmation of the existing rules of the pre-islamic arabs. It is a radical modification of the existing rules, often with some incremental tones, to bring Muslim communities to pay higher respects to women and be closer to fair and just societies.
