This research investigates Hala Alyan’s Salt Houses (2017) novel as the corpus. This research aims to investigate the resistance of Palestinian immigrants to collective trauma through testimony in Hala Alyan's Salt Houses novel. The writer conducts this research using the method of qualitative research and qualitative content analysis. The writer as the instrument of the research reads the corpus, collects the data, analyzes the data, and concludes the research. In analyzing the research, the writer uses the theory of trauma recovery by Judith Herman (1992) and other resources from books and journals to support the research analysis. The result showed that the novel portrayed Palestinian immigrants usingliterarydevices to reveal the issue of trauma. Thenovel portrays Palestinians as pawns in the depraved chessboard, as the child of war, and as fair-weather Arabs while portraying Palestine as a wound never scabbed over as well as Houses portrayed as salt. Therefore, the study explores the way Palestinian use testimony to resist the issue of collective trauma and intergenerational trauma. It is found that both the reconstruction of trauma stories through letters and photographs as testimony can recover the Palestinian immigrants’ trauma. The testimony in the form of letters and photographs however challenge the idea of silence, secrecy, and forgetting of the trauma and war promoted by the white hegemony
