This research aims to identify the translation procedure and to investigate the impact of its procedure towards the quality of translation in translating Islamic terms found in Islam: Risalah Cinta dan Kebahagiaan, a book written by Haidar Bagir. This research applied qualitative descriptive methods by using Translation Procedure theory by Newmark and Translation Quality Assessment theory by Nababan, focusing on accuracy and acceptability. The collected data were categorized based on the terms associated with ibadah (worshiping) and muamalah (dealing). This research found 23 data categorized as worshiping terms and 13 data categorized as dealing terms. The data were translated using 9 procedures, namely literal translation, naturalization, synonymy, transference, paraphrase, descriptive equivalent, addition, couplet, and triplet. The assessment towards accuracy showed high level as follows: 23 data were accurate, 12 data were less accurate, and 1 datum was inaccurate. The use of literal translation procedures contributed to have high accuracy level. Then, the assessment towards acceptability level revealed high quality as follows: 28 data were acceptable, 1 datum was less acceptable, and 7 data were unacceptable. The use of synonymy procedure created a high acceptability quality.
