The writer aims to explore the gender discrimination of women 1970 experienced by Sally Alexander as the lead character in the film Misbehaviour and its impact. The woman represented in this film is the one who lived in London 1970 and participated in feminist emancipation with a persistent, independent, and determined character according to her life background. The writer uses a qualitative method and takes film data in the form of scenes and dialogues through the writer herself as a research instrument. The author uses Fakih's gender discrimination theory to examine all the data collected. Gender discrimination in 1970 throughout Misbehaviour shows that educationally women are not allowed to have higher education as it is unconventional. Politically at 1970, men have incomparable rights to women for voting, and insist equal pay for equal work. Meanwhile, women socially demand control of their own bodies as contraception and abortion, they also want equal position, rights, and roles for the same gender. Based on the findings, gender discrimination in 1970 engaging with educational, social, and political leads to gender stereotype of Sally as imperialist, narrow-minded, and devious, and irresponsible person. Gender discrimination on those aspects results in Sally's gender subordination not only as mature student, but also subordination as housewife. Sally has also suffered direct and indirect violence, which also experienced in the double burden of Sally as a mother and adult student, the double burden as a mother in the organization, also a mother at work. Therefore, the discoveries about women's suffered oppression and discrimination experienced by Sally ultimately makes a gender construct in 1970.
