This research aims to know how rating system of popularity relate with hierarchy needs of the main character Black Mirror “Nosedive” named Lacie also the obstacles and efforts made by her to get her needs. The researcher used the qualitative method and descriptive analysis to reveal the findings. The data are collected from the films as the primary data, and relating to websites, books, and papers as supporting data. The researcher first analyzes the characteristics of the main character. Second, analyzes the rating system of popularity used in Nosedive society. Then, analyze Lacie’s needs based on Hierarchy of Needs theory. The result shows she has characteristics of pretending, selfish, and never give up. The rating system used as a primary tool in all sector of life including to measure people's popularity. In addition, Lacie has reached the 3rd stage hierarchy needs including the physiological needs, the safety needs, and the belonging and love needs, but she wants to raise it again to the next stage. Since her needs cannot be separated from the rating system, Lacie tries to be popular. On the contrary, she loses all of her ratings and drops back to the lowest level of the hierarchy at the end of the journey.
