this research. The instrument of this research was the writer herself by watching,
sorting, collecting, analyzing, and concluding the data. It was also analyzed by
using the theory of representation by Stuart Hall, through the lens of feminism
approach. The result showed that Moxie film represented patriarchy in a school
circumstance by portraying female objectification, repressive school regulation
against female, patriarchal school curriculum, male’s achievement glorification,
and supporting attitude towards patriarchal practices. Since the female students
experienced various disadvantages, the film also represented their feminist
movement as a resistance towards those patriarchal practices. It was portrayed by
the appearance of anonymous feminist magazine publication, the action of females
speak up for feminism in public, the choice to be a lesbian, the action of visual
protest symbolism & act of solidarity, the activism on social media, and the action
of school vandalism. Thus, the findings bring the conclusion that teenage female
students in Rockport High School resisted patriarchy in school by representing
different feminist movements, based on their personal experience and
understanding regarding patriarchal practices and feminism. Even though different,
all of them have represented the thinking and spirit of feminism from various era
