The study analyzes Pennywise, the killer clown, as the manifestation inferiority of the
main character and how they compensate for that in IT Chapter 2 (2019) film. The study
uses the Individual Psychology theory of Alfred Adler and the qualitative method for
understanding the data analysis supported by screenshots and dialogues in the film. The
objective of the study is to show the kinds of organs and feelings of inferiority of the
main character and to find out the compensation process carried out by them. The writer
finds out that Pennywise is the manifestation of the main character’s organ and feeling
inferiority by recalling their past traumas. The results of the study found that there are six
types of organ inferiority: stutter, asthma, OCD, gay, body-shaming, and bullying
victims. Then, three inferiority feelings are regret, guilt, and fear of past trauma. The two
types of compensation processes: changing lifestyles, facing their inferiorities, and doing
social interests with togetherness. Thus, they can eliminate their inferiority, accept their
past, and reach their respective levels of superiority
