This research aims to know the mental health issues and subjectivity of Eleanor as the main character in Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine (2017) novel through psychoanalysis theory by Sigmund Freud and Jacques Lacan. The method of the research is qualitative and the type of the research is descriptive. The instrument of the research is the writer as the subject of research by collecting, reading, understanding, identifying and analyzing data collected from the Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine (2017). To support the analysis, the writer uses Freudian Psychoanalysis theory that includes personality theory, psychosexual development, and defense mechanism and Lacanian Psychoanalysis of The Three Orders. The result of this research is Eleanor her Id is appeared to be dominating herself as she cannot pass the psychosexual development stage perfectly. Eleanor has fixation in the phallic stage. The imperfect her psychosexual development makes Eleanor have personality problems. It results in Eleanor has a bad character as she shows in Mummy as her delusion. Aside from delusion, she also have denial, repression, and reaction formation as her defense mechanism alongside with unhealthy coping mechanism. In her adulthood, delusion became a part of Eleanor’s mental health issues. In The Three Orders Stage Eleanor cannot pass the imaginary stage, which later impacted her symbolic stage that explained the delusion she experienced. Her subjectivity is affected by mental health issues she suffered from, that is influenced the way she perceived the world around her
