This study discusses about the illocutionary act that generates in Mary Poppins Return movie directed by Rob Marshall. The Conversation between characters in the movie is studied using John R. Searle’s Speech Acts theory. The Purpose of this research is to analyze the categories of illocutionary acts, to analyze how the utterances conveyed direct or indirect and explaining the use of illocutionary act in Mary Poppins Return movie. The result of the study, the researcher found five types of illocutionary act in fourty-six data which are; first, fifteen data of representative illocutionary act. Second, ten data of directive illocutionary act. Third, ten data of commissive illocutionary act. Fourth, ten data of expressive illocutionary act. Fifth, one data of declaration illocutionary act. In the fourty-six data found, thirty-six data are using the direct function while ten data are using the indirect function of speech
