The Representation Of Dia De Los Muertos In Coco Film

This research aims to show the Representation of Dia de Los Muertos (The day of the
dead) celebration on Coco animation film (2017) directed by Lee Unkrich and Adrian
Molina. The research uses a concept of the representation of culture by Stuart Hall. The
method use is descriptive qualitative. This research shows three main findings: first, the
cultural value in representation of the day of the dead, for instance, ornaments that have
a position in utility as a depiction of Mexican culture and historical point shapes the
death perspective. Second, Cultural activities perform in representing Dia de Los
Muertos. Lastly, the Mexican perspective concerns the land of the living dead; these
are a primary ritual to show the customs and create how the perspective of the Mexican
regarding Dia de Los Muertos. In conclusion, Mexican have a distinctive perspective
on death, where they represent entirely in the celebration model and background
honouring and remembering their ancestors through a colorful, vivid depiction of
death's world. Besides, the appearance of Disney and Pixar creativity is presented in
