This research discusses about the struggle of KH Washid against of Netherlands rule in Banten. His struggle culminated in July 9, 1888 in Banten. He and his religious leaders and followers carried out a rebellion because it was triggered by internal and external factors. Such as; tarekat, the spirit of jihad, the ideology of heroism, 1872 propaganda, the 1879 epidemic of livestock disease, the "prophet's last warning" letter of 1880, the eruption of Mount Krakatau in 1883, and rumors in Cilegon society about the prohibition of azan by the assistant resident of Gubbels in June 1888. This research uses a qualitative method with a historical perspective, and based on James's theory of "Resistance". C. Scott. This research has found that resistance leads to defeat due to several factors, such as disagreements in determining the time of the attack, lack of defense, to disproportionate weaponry. In this research, also found the origin of the change in KH Washid's name, which was formerly known as Qoshid, and the writing of his name in Latin script.
