Ashabul Kahfi, The Use of Library Collection at The Faculty of Education
Library in Muhammadiyah Tangerang
This research aimed to examined the use of the collection at the library of UMT
FKIP in comply need of the students and find out the user means to solve the
problem in useful library collection of UMT FKIP. This research is a descriptive
study and the method use in his research is a quantitative method. The population
in the research is the number visitors from January – June 2014 as many as 456.
Samples were taken 10% of 456 user. Is 45.6 and rounded to 456 people as
responden. Sampling method in this study using a stratified random sampling, is
taken from strata in accordance with the population of each level department of
mathematics education 10 responden, 9 responden indonesian education, 9
respondents english education, education teacher of ellementary 9 respondents,
and education childhood 9 respondents. In accordance simple proportional, each
level is average. The results of this research diagnose that almost all of
respondents (93,48%), the most involve the use of knowledge is the language
books with percentage (28,27%) recognize collection of 370 classes (science
education). Regarding the reason for their use of collection 370 classes (science
education) is to borrow the book for doing assigment and to determine the scope
of information the book (34,6%) get the same percentage. The obstacles of visitor
in the use of collection at the library of UMT FKIP almost entierly because the
collection is uncomplate, less up to date and the less number of collection with
percentage (41,4%).
