The main objective of this research is to find out the information seeking behavior
of the UIN Jakarta futsal team coach. The research method used a qualitative
approach with the type of phenomenological research. The data analyzed were the
results of field observations, the results of interviews with informants, and
documents that supported the research. The results of the study found that the
information seeking behavior of the futsal team coach consisted of 3 stages in
accordance with the information seeking behavior theory of Wilson, Ellis, and
Khultau. The first stage is the phase before information search which consists of
reaching the target, analyzing the needs of the players, and knowing the needs of
the players. The second stage is the behavioral phase when searching for
information including evaluation of training results, searching for information on
the internet, discussions between trainers, selecting information that is easy to
understand, and paying attention to information development. Furthermore, the
third stage is the behavioral phase after information search, namely, studying
information, and conveying information. The results of this study can be used as a
reference for the trainer in the process of finding appropriate information to
support the training process.
