This thesis aims to discuss the deviant behaviour and the reverse gender role that was depicted in the anime Gundam Build Divers from the character called Magee. The method used in this thesis is a qualitative descriptive method. By using character analysis, differential association theory proposed by E.H Sutherland, and the gender expectation theory to understand how a deviant is presented in a modern media. The thesis split into three parts, the first being the gathered data of the characters provided with transcribe and screenshots from the anime. The second being the analysis of the reverse gender role, and the third being the analysis on deviant behaviour and Magee’s impact toward the GBN society. The result of this research being that Magee did defy the gender role by choosing to act a subordinate role, and seldomly take the initiative on the active role. He too considered as a deviant, for his behaviour are not what you would see on a normal male, even so, he still has a positive impact on the GBN society because of his achievements and role as a navigator.
