This research is aimed to show the relation between jealousy and unconscious
phantasy of a 7-year-old child in The Boss Baby film. Through a qualitative
method and a descriptive analysis, the theory of fantasy by Sigmund Freud is used
to analyze the jealousy and the fantasy. The jealousy which experienced by the
main character may rise caused by the rivalry between siblings in order to seize
affection from the beloved. Sibling rivalry is one of the things that correlate with
the emergence of anxiety because it causes a sense of jealousy which makes
someone have a fear of losing something they have or being taken over by other
people whom they consider as a threat. Therefore, fantasy could be created in
order to repress the jealousy. Once, the fantasy works as a source of happiness and
another it functioned as a defense mechanism against loneliness. Moreover, the
fantasy also operated as a space to grant the unwishful desire in reality.
