This research focused on the translation study that was the cultural word of
organization categories from English into Indonesian in The Authorized
Biography of Abdurrahman Wahid by Greg Barton on 2002. The method of this
research is qualitative research which descriptive analysis as the methode of
research. She analyzes Greg Barton’s book by reading the original book and its
translation to find cultural word of organization categories. After the data (cultural
word of organization categories) collected, then the writer classified them based
on Newmark’s theory, analyzing the data with relevant theories of translation
procedure. The finding obtained from the analysis of the related data showed that
there are seventeen data of organization categories, two data are transference, four
data are recognized, ten data are through, and one data is cultural equivalence. To
conclude, the procedure of translation that mostly used is through translation.
