This thesis entitled The Translation strategy of Idiomatic expression In JK Rowling Book Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince into Harry Potter dan Pangeran berdarah campuran by Listiana Srisanti that aims to analyze and identify strategies that use to translate idiomatic expression that found in this novel. The researcher uses methodology descriptive analysis to analyze idiomatic expression. The strategy that use to analyse the idiomatic expression is using Mona Baker (1992) theory. Process for researcher to analyze the data by pile up the idiomatic words from the English version and Translation version of this book. The analysis that has been done by researcher found 10 idiomatic expression. The most common strategies researcher found in this novel are strategies similar meaning with similar form and translation by paraphrase.
